In the evocative setting of the ancient city of Ibiza there is the celebration of the Friday of Sorrows. An atmosphere so suggestive to send us directly to the Middle Ages. The sacredness of the ritual leaves open-mouthed. As Knights Templars who have survived centuries of history, the confreres fill the streets of the upper city with their presence.
Simple, sober, serious, humble the Cofradía de Nuestra Señora de los Dolores and the Cofradía del Santísimo Cristo del Cementerio, have given life to the celebrations of the “Friday of the Sorrows” this year too.
Keywords: Effort, sacrifice, prayer, devotion and above all with a lot of faith.
According to Christian iconography, the Brotherhoods that venerate images without life, use colors such as black. On the other hand, the brothers wear costumes of colors to represent images of saints or Virgins alive.
Thanks to the brotherhoods to facilitate my work always and in any case.
